Bracelets in high quality Afghan lapis lazuli

The use of lapis lazuli in Afghanistan is very old and dates back 7'000 years! The main deposit of this magnificent deep ultramarine blue stone is located in the valley of the river Kokcha.

These bracelets are not made by the ex-prisoners, however all the profits from the sale of these pieces will go to the operation of the reception center of the association in Kabul.

Description

These are not simple handicrafts...

But jewellery made by women who are not designers but beneficiaries of our association. To make them, they bargain-hunt pearls, semi-precious stones, old coins and pieces of traditional kilim fabric in the market, which they assemble, often in the style of jewellery from different Afghan ethnic groups. It was their idea to make this jewellery for us to bring back to Switzerland after our trip to Kabul in early 2021. We brought back these unique and very special pieces made by ex-detainees or their daughters, whose names we note on the pouch we use to wrap them when you purchase one.

By buying one of these pieces, you contribute directly to helping these women to get out of great misery, material and psychological precariousness. In exchange, you will have a magnificent and unique piece of handicraft !

Hope for Afghan Women thanks you for your generosity and support.
